Terms of Service
Last updated
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Renduo (“Renduo,” “we,” “us”), a component-first PDF generation API, together with the website at renduo.dev, the API at api.renduo.dev, and the dashboard at app.renduo.dev (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, generating documents, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization.
The Service
Renduo provides an API for generating PDF documents from React components. To use it, you register a
component by compiling it locally and pushing it to Renduo with renduo push. Renduo bakes the
component into a self-contained HTML shell and, for each generation, receives only the data payload for
that document. Your component executes in an isolated, network-blocked Chrome sandbox — never in
Renduo’s Node process.
The Service offers two generation modes:
- Sync — the PDF is returned in the API response and is ephemeral by design: neither the PDF nor the payload is persisted, only operation metadata.
- Async — the PDF is stored in object storage and you are notified by webhook. Stored PDFs are retained for your plan’s retention window and then purged automatically.
Accounts and API keys
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and API keys, and for all activity that occurs under your account. API keys identify requests to the API; treat them as secrets. Renduo stores only a hashed form of your key, never the key itself.
Depending on your plan, multiple members may join an organization with Admin, Developer, or Viewer roles. You are responsible for your members’ compliance with these Terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited uses include:
- Submitting components or payloads designed to compromise, degrade, or interfere with the Service, other customers, or third parties.
- Using the Service to generate illegal, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise unlawful content, or content that violates the rights of others.
- Attempting to circumvent or exceed your plan’s quotas, rate limits, or access controls (for example, by creating multiple accounts to bypass a limit).
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent expressly permitted by law.
- Reselling, sublicensing, or offering the Service to third parties as a standalone offering without our prior written consent.
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service or its infrastructure without authorization.
- Using the Service to send unsolicited messages or to process data you do not have the right to process.
We may suspend or terminate access to accounts that engage in prohibited conduct, as described in the Termination section below.
Subscriptions, billing, and payment
The Service is offered under several plans: Free, Starter ($29/month), Growth ($79/month), and Enterprise (custom terms). Plan features and limits are described on our website and may change as described in the Changes to These Terms section.
Payments for paid plans are processed by Polar as our Merchant of Record. Polar is the seller of record for billing purposes: it processes payments, collects any applicable taxes, and issues invoices. Renduo never sees, stores, or processes your payment card data. By subscribing, you agree to Polar’s terms for the transactions you authorize.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal or by contacting us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
Usage beyond your plan’s included quota on paid plans (“overage”) is measured by Renduo and billed through Polar at the overage rate published for your plan. The Free plan does not allow overage: generation stops once the plan quota is reached.
Charges are denominated in US dollars. Taxes are handled by Polar in accordance with applicable law. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as expressly set out in these Terms.
Quotas and retention
Plans include monthly quotas for billable PDFs, templates, members, and asset storage, and every document is capped at 100 pages. Current limits are published on our website and in our documentation.
In async mode, generated PDFs are stored for a retention window that depends on your plan — 24 hours on Free, 30 days on Starter, 90 days on Growth, and custom on Enterprise — and are then purged automatically. The operation record is retained.
Intellectual property
You retain all rights in your components, payloads, and the documents you generate. You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and transmit your content as necessary to provide the Service to you, including baking components into HTML shells and storing generated PDFs for the retention window.
Renduo and its licensors own the Service itself, including the API, software, documentation, design, and trademarks. We may use anonymized, aggregated data that does not identify you to operate and improve the Service.
Data and privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data we process and how. In short: sync generations are ephemeral and are not persisted; async PDFs are stored only for your plan’s retention window; and your data is shared only with the processors needed to operate the Service (hosting, storage, email, billing, and the Chrome sandbox). The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the Service reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Renduo’s total liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid to Renduo in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Renduo and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for convenience (with notice) or immediately for a material breach of these Terms, including prohibited use or non-payment. Upon termination, your access to the Service ends; stored PDFs and other data are deleted or retained only as required by law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Santiago, Chile.
